Who We Are
TIMER Ltd. was established in 2024 by Dr Melissa Austen,
a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practioners.
Dr. Melissa Austen is an experienced GP with a background in traditional practice and in specialised settings such as 'Youth One Stop Shops' and Māori health providers. Over the years this work has allowed her to develop a well-rounded understanding of healthcare across diverse communities.
In late 2023, while working overseas and unable to provide in-person care, Melissa began remotely managing inboxes and providing telehealth support to New Zealand-based practices. In doing so, she quickly identified an opportunity to provide remote work for GPs facing similar challenges in staying connected to the New Zealand healthcare system, wherever they were. At the same time, she saw an urgent need to address the growing administrative burden on frontline GPs in New Zealand.
Combining the two issues, Melissa founded TIMER, a company dedicated to helping alleviate the administrative load on GPs, allowing them to dedicate more time and focus to what matters most - providing high-quality care to their patients.
What We Do
We understand the administrative burden on practices and provide day-to-day inbox support in a way that suits your practice and frees up your teams to see more patients.
We can also provide sessional virtual consultation support to complement your existing clinics.
